Clarke Puts Foot in Mouth?

1) The link to this post is from our friend Shmee over at "Capital Addiction ", a Washington capitals blog who takes former Philadelphia Flyers GM Bob(don't call me Bobby) Clarke to task for his remarks yesterday.

2) For those who may not have heard, Bobby(screw you Clarke we'll call ya what we want!) had a few words to say on the recent Downie sucker punch of Toronto winger, Jason Blake. Says Bobby," When he (Downie) went after Blake, I loved it!" The moron (Clarke) went on to say: "Blake was a guy who had no problem going out and saying [Downie] should be suspended for life or suspended for the year," When you say something that stupid, why shouldn't this kid go after him for it?" If a player wants to criticize a player, then he has to go on the ice with him and suffer the consequences."

3) Keep in mind Clarke, though no longer the Flyers GM, is still the senior vice president of the team. Therefore he still represents them when he makes such remarks. As we wrote on Shmee's blog: The Flyers should be pissed as the Clarke comments only confirm what many thought; that the Flyers not only condone the goon behavior, but they promote it. Nice timing Bobby! He and the Flyers should be fined for his remarks that go well beyond dumb! Clarke has been a dick since he was a player then stayed a dick when he became GM. Though this is probably one of the first times that confirms that he may also be stupid. Have a nice time trying to extricate that foot from your pie hole Bobby! Jerk!

What rock did this guy come out of anyway? Clarke is just defending Downie because the same Clarke drafted Downie in the second round so he has a reason to want to defend the indefensible

Thankyou Bob. Thank you for letting all of us know what the Flyers are really all about. A bunch of pussys who hit from behind and sucker punch. Please just go fuck yourself you piece of shit!

1) Silas: Nice call. We looked it up, and you are indeed correct. Clarke drafted Downie in the first round in 2005. If he were to tone things down he probably could develop into a decent 2 way checking forward, but he needs to shed this nonsense else his career will be short
2) Blaine: Your post was very much like some of the e-mails we've recived since we put up the post. Next time tell us what you really feel! LOL

Faux, this is typical BOBBY Clarke behavior... Why would everyone be so shocked over this? Its like your post said, "He was a dick, and still is a dick." Dicks say and do things along these lines... Its in BUTTman's hands now - which assures another dick doing something stupid...

Clarke is a dinosaur and seriously needs to STFU. From calling Roger Nielsen 'weird' to this crap ... why doesn't someone give him a chairshot?

Bobby Clarke is poisen to that organization, the team and the fans. Everyone celebrated his outing (part-time) last season when he retired. The franchise outed Ken Hitchcock, who happens to be a pretty terrific coach of the CBJ -- good system, good coach.

We could use him in New York right about now. On the flip side, no one needs Bobby Clarke, except Bobby Clarke.

1) Jes & Dark: Agreed that Bob does need to STFU and just go away. You couldn't get two quality words from him when he was GM, now he seems happy to share his opinions(as inane as they are)
2) As Antz, writes its really NOT surprising what Clarke says. Its just the timing from a Flyer's organizational stand point that's awful!

Faux, I am blushing with pleasure (well, not really cause I'm brown).

We are very happy to hear that others agree with us that Bobby Clarke is an idiot with a small dick (thank god, we dont have any physical proof of that last part).

1)Shmee: Well anytime we can oblige and make ya blush/have pleasure or both we are happy. ; ) BTW, you can still blush even when 'brown', its just less noticeable. LOL
2) Your assumption of Mr. Clarke's short comings are probably correct. Something has to explain his behavior, so why not that. Perhaps we'll soon see him on one of those Sialis/Viagra commercials?
